Contrary to the status quo belief, being a creative entrepreneur is not about being “fearless” at all. It’s about pushing through fear even when you want to run. The ability to keep trudging along during tough times is what separates those who “make” it from those who do not.

Not magic. Not favor.

Sticktoiveness.

I wrote this post for the creative geniuses who are launching a business while working. Is that you (if so, you should check out my strategic planning system The Quit Kit)?

I know it gets hard.

I know you doubt yourself.

I know you wonder if you can pull it off.

I know that sometimes you just don’t know if it’s possible.

I know because I’ve been there.

I don’t want you to give up. It’s just too soon.

I don’t want you to wonder…”What if I kept on pushing?”

I don’t want you to keep working a job that doesn’t make your soul sing.

I don’t want you to keep your talents tamed and your gifts a secret.

I want you to soar.

I want you to trust yourself more than you ever have before.

I want you to be clear that the life you want is yours if you commit to doing the work.

I don’t want you to wait until the “perfect time” because it will never come.

When you step into full-time entrepreneurship you’ll face a new set of worries. And fears. It doesn’t ever go away. The difference is what you get in return — the freedom you’ll experience from defining your future, from making your mark — is priceless.

The best thing you can do for yourself is to be prepared for the tough times.

Keep some inspiration on hand so you can get your creative and motivational tune up, and then carry on.
